Let me guess, it's 2018 so you're in the whole "new year, new me" mood, right? And since it's only been a few days since the holidays and you feel like you've gained a few numbers on the scale and it's in your resolution to get healthy and fit (not necessarily lose weight, there's a difference…), so you're in the whole "let's be active and exercise" mood, right? And lastly… you thought the same way in 2017 but didn't follow through the whole year and the same goes the year before that and the year before that....

It's alright. We've all been there and done that. No shame here. However, we (and by we, I mean you) need to face the fact that we have to stick to our word. No more "no time," "no money," "no gym membership," excuses. We are not getting any younger, my friends. We need to work that beer belly out if we want to keep looking fab and slaying--yes, this is where tiis ganda would be a good practice. And luckily, /ESCAPE is here to help.

We've rounded up a couple of very accessible and budget-friendly workouts that you can literally do from five minutes to an hour, whenever and wherever.

Body weight training

No fancy equipment needed for this! Body weight training is perfect if you're looking for a quick fix for breaking a sweat. Apps like Nike Training Club and various videos on YouTube can get your heart rate up in no time. Do a five-minute HIIT or an hour-long cardio strength circuit training session in the comforts of your home, maybe even try your tita's favorite Zumba routine! Whatever your time permits you. So no, I know what you're thinking and no, you can't use not having enough time as an excuse.

Exercise Routines on YouTube

Bulk up and define them muscles at home like actor Vin Abrenica! Nothing says more like accessible workout routines than by having it readily available on YouTube. He has tons of videos on targeting specific ateas for that total beach bod look. Perfect, right? Now, if your next excuse is that you don't have internet and data all the time, then no problem! Just click on the "save offline" button on YouTube and you'll have your favorite workout routines with you wherever you go.

Homemade Pois

Ever been amazed and fascinated seeing the fire dancers in Boracay? And maybe secretly dreamed of actually being able to do such graceful flame twirling? You can actually learn it at home! While Pois (yes, that's what it's called) are a bit pricey to acquire, you can make your own with rice grains or tennis balls and a pair of long socks and just look for tutorial videos on YouTube! Of course, the flammable pois are for later but you get the point.

Pocket Yoga

Anyone who says yoga is easy obviously hasn't tried it. Although yoga classes can be HELLA expensive, you can actually get your sequences off the internet! This is also perfect for those who are always on the go, no need to fuss about missing a workout because there are hundreds of Yoga applications you can download on your mobile phone (for free!) and YouTube videos you can save. That way you can always have your sun salutations in your pocket!

A good old run

Whether it's jogging around the Acad Oval in UP or BGC's Track 30th or just doing sprints down the street of your village, nothing will beat a good old fashioned jog or run. Just lace up, put on your favorite workout or jogging playlist, a spirit of committing to some much needed cardio, and you're good to go. Just you, the rough concrete underneath your feet, and the music drumming in your ears. Nothing could be better (or as budget friendly) as that.

Well, that wasn't too bad, was it? All you need is a little bit of time and a lot of dedication. And you'd be surprised by how fit you've grown in no time.

So next time you hear your friend go through their bag of excuses of not being able to work out, let them read this and give them no room for excuses. Comment down below which you think you'd have fun the most doing!
