The iHeartRadio Music Awards showed off great talent, pretty dresses, and familiar faces. Honestly, the whole thing was a treat worthy of everyone’s attention. For the most part at least. Celebrating the biggest, most relevant names in music, and taking into consideration of what all of the fans think, the awards show was a hit, with a lot of people’s favorites winning hella big.
What exactly made the #iHeartAwards2018 memorable? Why don’t you start here.
There were a lot of hella sparkling looks
Starting with Hailey Baldwin, the glamourous trend of loud and sparkling dresses had graced us through the red carpet, their shine simply asking for attention. And no, that’s not a bad thing. Our other faves? Iggy Azalea, Kehlani, and Ashanti. From glittery bodysuits to cleavage baring dresses that reached to the ground, we got the memo that all things must shine.
The B in ‘Cardi B’ stands for #BEST
With the help of G-Eazy, our reigning queen Cardi B had opened up for the awards show with five of her greatest hits. Bodak Yellow being her standout performance, she made major moves while making the crowd roar. Winning two, Best New Artist and Best New Hip-Hop Artist, out of her five nominations, this was a night to celebrate, with no time for haters just like she made clear in her acceptance speech.
Taylor Swift’s classic redemption
After a public appearance with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift revealed her music video for Delicate, a song all about said boy. Had the hiking date been done solely to promote this video? That’s what people seem to think. Nevermind all of that, Taylor’s look for her video was reminiscent of her old self. Watch it here.
One Direction? More like Five
If people were still hoping for any sort of chance that the boys of One Direction would come together once again to reform their boyband, I’m sorry but it isn’t happening. Louis Tomlinson just won the award for Best Solo Breakout Star. Who did he beat for the title? The remaining members of his old boyband (and Camila Cabello but whatever).
Get recruited into the BTS army
After winning Top Social Artist during last year’s Billboard Music Awards, the seven member Korean boy band, BTS, continues their rise to greatness Winning the Best Fan Army Award, proving once and for all that their number of fans is insane. Although not at the awards show themselves, they had a video prepared for their loving fanbase.
Whether you’re a part of the BTS army or you consider yourself an honorary member on Taylor Swift’s girl squad, chances are your favorite artists got a win. Especially if you were rooting for one of the Ex-One Direction boys. What was your favorite part of the awards show? Tell us in the comments below!
